POC Spotlight: Meet the White Hawk Indian Council for Children
Event committee also seeking volunteers
Principles of Community is just three weeks away, and the event committee would like to introduce you to the performers!
This week, meet the White Hawk Indian Council for Children.
Originally formed by the Aranda family, the group has grown to enhance the quality of life within their families and community to develop a spiritual awareness through participation in traditional ceremonies and cultural arts. The mission of White Hawk is to provide safe environments where youth can develop trust in themselves and others, to enhance the quality of life within their families and community and to develop a spiritual awareness through participation in traditional ceremonies and cultural arts.
You are invited to come see White Hawk perform live on March 3.
This event is open to all UC Davis and UC Davis Health faculty, staff, learners, and health providers. Participation is voluntary and release time for employees can be coordinated with your supervisor.
Interested in volunteering?
The event committee is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a welcoming, inspiring space for everyone who attends.
On March 1 and March 2, volunteers will help decorate and setup the event—the behind-the-scenes work that transforms a venue into a vibrant reflection of community, creativity, and shared values.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Decorating the space (banners, signage, displays, and finishing touches)
- Assisting with room and table setup
- Helping ensure the venue is organized and ready for guests
Flexible shifts are available, and all volunteers will receive guidance and support on site.
