Stories of excellence across UC Davis Health earn top honors at PRSA Influence Awards

(SACRAMENTO)

The stories of UC Davis Health employees, learners, patients and programs earned top recognition at this year's Public Relations Society of America California Capital Chapter Influence Awards, where the Public Affairs & Marketing team received multiple Influence Awards and a Merit Award.

The honors reflect the breadth of storytelling taking place across UC Davis Health, from celebrating employee achievements and elevating patient experiences to showcasing innovation in research, education and clinical care.

"One of the greatest privileges of our work is the opportunity to tell the stories of the extraordinary people who make UC Davis Health such a special place," said Steve Telliano, assistant vice chancellor, Strategic Communications. "Whether we're highlighting a nurse's compassion, a learner's achievement, a groundbreaking research effort or a moment that brings our community together, we're honored to help share those stories."

Public Affairs & Marketing partners with employees across hospitals, clinics, classrooms, laboratories and administrative teams to showcase the innovation, dedication and compassion that define UC Davis Health. Through storytelling, the team helps connect employees to one another, celebrate accomplishments and advance the organization's mission to improve lives and transform health care.

This year's recognized projects highlighted the people, programs and moments that make UC Davis Health unique:

Several of the recognized projects centered on stories that resonated deeply with employees. Coverage of UC Davis Health's resident peregrine falcons and the California Tower hummingbirds united thousands of readers around unexpected moments of connection and discovery. Other winning entries highlighted the compassion of nurses, promoted workplace safety and support, celebrated educational achievement and showcased the organization's commitment to excellence in patient care and training.

For the communicators behind the award-winning work, the recognition serves as a reminder that the most meaningful stories often begin with the people who show up every day to care for patients, support colleagues, advance research and educate the next generation of health care professionals.

While the awards celebrate excellence in communications, they also honor the UC Davis Health employees, learners and teams whose dedication, compassion and innovation continue to create stories worth sharing. Those stories remain the team's greatest source of inspiration and its greatest privilege to tell.
