Submit photos of loved ones for IFIC ERG's virtual ofrenda

(SACRAMENTO)

Join the Interfaith and Intercultural (IFIC) Employee Resource Group as we celebrate the lives of our loved ones during Día de los Muertos/Miccailhuitl.

Miccailhuitl (pronounced mee-kai-lee-weet-l) is the original Indigenous celebration that inspired what we now know as Día de los Muertos. Día de los Muertos is a joyful Mexican tradition honoring loved ones who have passed. Families create colorful ofrendas(or offerings) with photos, flowers, and favorite foods to celebrate their lives and memories. We invite you to witness the lives of those who have passed and celebrate the community we create together.

IFIC will be curating a virtual ofrenda of images of our loved ones who have passed away. The photos can be of any person (or animal) who you would like to remember and honor during this time. The photos will be shared for our UC Davis Health community to view from Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.

Upload your photos to the virtual ofrenda by Thursday, Oct. 31.

Anyone can submit a photo to the virtual ofrenda, so please feel free to share this email with your colleagues! (A note about photo submissions: When sharing photos of loved ones no longer with us, please ensure any additional individuals in the picture who can provide consent, do so. If the picture was taken on campus, please ensure no patients or identifiable patient information is displayed anywhere in the picture. Thank you.)
