Upcoming deletion of migrated campus SharePoint sites
In August, the Microsoft 365 Migration team successfully migrated all SharePoint sites from the campus environment to the health environment. At that time, the original campus sites were set to “view only” mode to complete the transition.
Beginning Nov. 13, the migrated SharePoint sites on the campus environment will be permanently deleted.
User impact
No user impact is expected. All users should already be accessing SharePoint through the health environment, where all active sites and data now reside.
Will my site be deleted if it wasn’t migrated?
No. Only SharePoint sites that were successfully migrated to the health environment are scheduled for deletion.
Why are the old sites being deleted?
The deletion is part of ongoing efforts to maintain data security and ensure that UC Davis Health data is fully removed from the campus environment.
Need something after Nov. 13?
After deletion, there will be a brief “soft delete” period during which the M365 team can recover and restore data if needed. Once that window closes, all deleted sites will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
