Policy Update: Return-to-Work COVID-19 testing

(SACRAMENTO)
Under the new policy, antigen testing is no longer necessary.

We are pleased to announce an update to the UC Davis Health return-to-work policy regarding COVID-19 and antigen testing.

What's Changed? Previously, COVID-positive employees were required to undergo antigen testing if they wished to return to work within 10 days of the onset of symptoms. Under the new policy, antigen testing is no longer necessary.

New Return-to-Work Criteria: Employees can now return to work if they meet all the following conditions:

  • At least three days have passed since the onset of symptoms (Day Zero).
  • They have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications.
  • Their symptoms have significantly improved.

Continued Safety Measures: As per the original policy, staff must continue to wear a well-fitted N95 mask in all areas at all times and eat alone for at least 10 days from Day Zero.
