Several activities are available to the UC Davis and UC Davis Health community in April. Don’t miss out on these free opportunities to tend to your wellbeing and mental health.
Ask a dietician (recording)
Missed the March 6 “Ask a Dietician” event? Watch the recording, available until April 9. Four UC Davis Health registered dietitians answered live audience questions live around various topics, including but not limited to:
- How to overcome cravings and stick to a diet or healthy eating when under stress.
- How dietary needs shift as we age.
- Types of food alternatives for insulin resistance.
- Things to consider when living with diabetes.

Join the Wellness Ambassador Program
Wellness Ambassadors serve as representatives of the UC Davis Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being program while supporting and engaging their colleagues in wellness messaging, programs, activities and resources.
Wellness Ambassadors’ roles and responsibilities:
- Market, publicize and recruit staff and academics to participate in health and well-being activities and programming on campus.
- Identify potential ideas, strategies and programs for enhancing well-being and a healthy culture/work environment.
- Optional: Apply for an annual $500 grant to support health and well-being initiatives in their unit.
Kindness Meditation Spring 2025
Strengthen your inner resources and improve your sense of well-being through scientifically supported kindness meditation.

Eldercare Support Group, April 9
Please join Alison Ward, PsyD., a psychologist at ASAP who will facilitate a drop-in support group which meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays at Noon via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to share personal experiences with eldercare, learn about resources in the community and obtain guidance on relevant topics.
Topics will include:
- Coping with caregiver stress
- Identifying compassion fatigue
- Finding balance between caring for self and others
- Connecting to community resources
- Learning about ASAP services

All About Gut Health, April 15
Join a virtual tour of the human gut microbiome on April 15. Attendees will explore the role of the gut microbiome in digestion and immunity, why it matters, and how it impacts overall health. Learn some practical ways to enhance and maintain a healthy gut through diet and lifestyle choices. Presented by Allie Amirault, clinical nutrition senior at UC Davis, and Carolyn Slupsky, professor of Departments of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition at UC Davis.

Community Building Circle, April 16
Join the upcoming virtual Community Building Circle on April 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participate in a space that embraces diverse perspectives to build meaningful connections with one another through respectful engagement.
