My goal everyday is to to provide the safest, up-to-date and caring service to my patients and their family members, and have rewarding interactions with them which allows me the opportunity to become a better clinician. I strive to stay ahead of current practice and to share my knowledge and experiences with present and future anesthesia providers.
Dr. Dhamrait has been a faculty member in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine since 2005, initially as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Since 2006, Dr. Dhamrait has been permanent faculty, and was promoted to Health Sciences Clinical Professor in 2018. He is the Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology, and Medical Director of the Children’s Surgery Center, a state of the art operating room suite designed for the care of neonate and pediatric patients. Dr. Dhamrait provides care for pediatric patients with congenital heart conditions requiring corrective cardiac surgery.
Dr. Dhamrait leads a team of pediatric anesthesia providers that includes 12 physician anesthesiologists and 8 certified registered nurse anesthestists, who provide care for all age groups, from newborn babies to adult patients requiring pediatric surgical expertise.
Dr. Dhamrait’s areas of interest focus on service and education. He has been the Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology since 2010 during which time he has been involved in design of the current pediatric operating rooms as well as being part of the American College of Surgeons Level 1 Children’s Surgery planning and implementation team. He continues to serve on multiple department and hospital committees to ensure that Pediatric Anesthesiology remains at the forefront of patient safety. Education of UCD anesthesia residents, fellows and allied healthcare providers remains a prioirity, as well as at a regional and national level, and he has received awards for his efforts. Dr. Dhamrait also contributes to research efforts in the Section of Pediatric Anesthesiology and is currently involved in two IRB-approved research studies.
