Philosophy of Care

Dr. Louie is known for his dictums that empathy is never an occupational hazard and that every patient deserves a clinical trial of one. He received lifetime recognition in 2021 from the American Thoracic Society for his philosophy and work with the Outstanding Clinician Award.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Louie’s clinical research focuses on patient safety, advanced therapeutics including biologics, phenotyping and endotyping asthma, COPD and Asthma COPD Overlap for precision patient care.
