Collaborative START Lab

Mission Statement

The Collaborative START lab is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for autistic individuals and their families. We achieve this by:

  • Improving access to high-quality education and support
  • Translating evidence-based interventions into effective, publicly-funded community services
  • Reaching traditionally underserved populations

Our goal is to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that cutting-edge interventions benefit all members of the autistic community.

Our Core Values

Empowerment through Individuality: We celebrate and nurture the unique interests, talents, and relationship-building skills of each member of the autistic community.

Lifelong Learning: We foster continuous growth and development for autistic individuals, university and community learners, scientists, and service providers.

Inclusive Diversity: We embrace diverse perspectives, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds in all aspects of our work, practicing cultural humility and adaptability.

Collaborative Partnerships: We build strong, reciprocal relationships with:

  • Autistic individuals and their families
  • Trainees and students
  • Community members
  • Professional colleagues

Through these partnerships, we ensure our work remains relevant, respectful, and impactful.
