Tele-Assessment of Development Study | UC Davis MIND Institute

Our Goal

This study compares online video assessments to traditional in-person assessments. This research will help us understand if telehealth methods are just as good as direct testing in person.

We are also measuring how quickly families start support services after they get a diagnosis.

Telehealth assessments may be especially helpful for families who live far away from medical centers.

Who Can Participate?

• Toddlers between the ages of 18 and 42 months and their parents

What will you need to do?

Complete an online screening questionnaire about your child’s behavior

• Based on your child’s score, further testing may not be suggested. In that case, your participation will be complete
• You will receive a $25 gift card for filling out the questionnaire.

If monitoring is recommended, you will be invited to participate in two assessments to check for signs of autism.
These will be done by telehealth or in person at the UC Davis MIND Institute. You will receive:

• Feedback from autism experts about your child’s development
• Referrals for intervention if needed
• A written report of your child’s strengths and challenges
• Gift cards for completing two visits ($25 each)
