Practice Philosophy:
Dr. Schomer’s goal as ICU pharmacist is to provide an evidence-based high level of care to each patient.  This includes serving as an accountable member to the ICU team and teaching young practitioners how to formulate what will eventually be his/her own method of taking care of critically ill patients.

Bio:
Dr. Schomer graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center and then began her pharmacy career at UCDH in 2014 by completing a PGY1 Acute Care Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at UCDH. 

Following completion of her critical care PGY2 she accepted a position with UCDH, focusing on the critically ill patient population and specifically the neurocritically ill. She is currently a Senior Pharmacist, board certified in critical care as well as certified in emergency neurological life support.  Dr. Schomer is involved in policy and protocol development, the resident mentorship program, and pharmacy resident research.  In 2019 Dr. Schomer was awarded the Pharmacy Excellence Award and an Apple for Preceptor award by the UCSF graduating pharmacy students at UC Davis Health. She was also awarded the Residency Preceptor of the Year for 2019-2020.
