UC Davis nursing school remains a top 25 graduate nursing program in latest U.S. News & World Report rankings

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis ranks among the top 25 best master’s-degree nursing programs for the fourth year in a row, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Graduate Schools.

The publication today released its annual report and ranked the school’s Master’s Entry Program in Nursing as No. 24, tied with one other school. The rankings consider enrollment figures, job placement rates, faculty demographics, research activity and assessment scores from peers and health care professionals. This information empowers prospective students to make well-informed choices and discover programs that align with their academic and professional goals.

“We continue to be honored that our peers recognize the School of Nursing as a leader in health care education,” said Dean Stephen J. Cavanagh. “We remain focused on evolving our educational programs, research and community partnerships to meet the needs of an ever-evolving California.”

The School of Nursing's program equips registered nurses with the necessary knowledge and skills to adapt to the ever-evolving health care landscape. Grounded in expanding research and guided by forward-thinking faculty dedicated to reshaping health care, the curricula embrace integrative case-based learning, technology and holistic perspectives on systems-wide health care.

The School of Nursing prioritizes the recruitment of a diverse student body and fosters an inclusive learning atmosphere where every student can realize their aspirations of becoming a change agent in health care. In addition to the master’s-entry program, the school offers the following programs:

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Physician Assistant Studies
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia (in development)
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate
