Construction activity: Cancer Center South landscape cleanup and restoration

(SACRAMENTO)

On Saturday, Oct. 17, Sunday, Oct. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 8, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, crews will perform exterior landscape cleanup and restoration at Cancer Center South.

Work will include removing vegetation, backfilling and grading the existing trench and installing walk-on bark. These activities will prepare the area for turnover to Plant Operations and Maintenance (PO&M) for ongoing maintenance.

Construction activity impacts.

Please note the following impacts:

  • Temporary impacts will be limited to the northernmost lane along Cancer Center South, currently designated for cell phone parking, between 45th Street and the unnamed access road separating the Cancer Center and Imaging Resource Building.

  • Only one lane will be temporarily closed during construction activities. The roadway will remain open and accessible to vehicular traffic, with no anticipated impacts to building or emergency vehicle access.

  • Pedestrian access along the adjacent sidewalk will be maintained, with temporary delineators and directional guidance in place to safely direct the limited weekend pedestrian traffic around the work area.

  • All temporary traffic and pedestrian controls will be coordinated with the contractor to minimize disruptions to Cancer Center operations.
