Exceptional results from CDPH survey of UC Davis Health Transplant Center

(SACRAMENTO)

Dear Colleagues,

We are proud to share the outstanding results from our recent California Department of Public Health (CDPH) survey of the UC Davis Health Transplant Center.

The survey team arrived on Monday, Aug. 18, for a three-and-a-half-day review to evaluate our compliance with Medicare’s conditions of participation for transplant programs. Their review included adult kidney, pediatric kidney, and adult liver transplants. The surveyors conducted an in-depth assessment, which included medical record reviews, policy and procedure evaluations, staff interviews, direct observations, and participation in committee meetings.

At the conclusion of their visit, the survey team found no deficiencies. In fact, one surveyor expressed appreciation by saying, “On behalf of the surveyor team, I would like to thank your staff for their cooperation—it’s been a pleasure. And they were very kind.”

This exceptional outcome reflects the dedication, professionalism, and expertise of our transplant team, guided by the leadership of Melissa Blevins, Executive Director of the Transplant Center. We also want to recognize Kimber Ramos, Director of Regulatory, Licensure and Accreditation, and her team for their tremendous support, which is particularly impressive so soon after last week’s highly successful Joint Commission survey.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Your commitment to excellence ensures that UC Davis Health continues to deliver world-class care to our patients and their families.

With gratitude,
