Investigating: Is the gym on Stockton and Y available for all employees?
Several employees have walked past the gym on Stockton Blvd. and Y Street and emailed Public Affairs and Marketing to ask: Is this gym available for us?

In our initial outreach, there was a thought that it was only available for physicians and nurses, students, or “Medical Center staff,” not UC Davis Health as a whole. So, we stopped by and asked questions to find out.
First, it is available for UC Davis Health staff, faculty, and students—all of them.
To utilize the UC Davis Health Fitness Center – its official name – you must purchase a membership through UC Davis Campus Recreation.
Medical, nursing and PA students who pay tuition have complimentary access. (An earlier version of this article had medical staff, nursing staff, and PA students as receiving complimentary passes. We apologize for the misinterpretation.)
For faculty, staff, medical residents, UC Davis Health retirees, postdocs, and partners of employees, the pricing is as follows:
- Annual membership: $200 per year (from date of purchase)
- Monthly membership: $50 per calendar month (from date of purchase)
- Weekly membership: $25 per calendar week (from date of purchase)
- One-day pass: $10 for the exact date of purchase
The fitness center is equipped with cardio machines, free weights, and strength training machines (photos below). The hours of operation are typically 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends; however, the website is frequently updated with any time changes. Finally, the fitness center has its own parking lot; A valid permit is required.
