Parking Relief: UC Davis Health to open 1,250 more employee-only spaces in PS7
Parking and Transportation has announced that Parking Structure 7, located near the MIND Institute off 50th Street, is ahead of schedule and will open on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
The opening of PS7 – initially scheduled for September – will add 1,250 new parking spaces for UC Davis Health employees.
Although the structure was originally scheduled to open only after all work was completed, leadership prioritized easing parking congestion for employees and opted to open it sooner.
What to Know About PS7
B-permits needed
Parking Structure 7 is an employee-only parking garage. Employees must have a monthly or daily B permit.
Electric vehicle charge stations are not quite ready
ChargePoint EV Fueling stations are installed but will not be operational as they continue to be tested and certified. Employees with electric vehicles can park in EV spaces but will not be able to connect and charge yet.
Parking entry/exit equipment offline
The gates at entry and exit are undergoing final installation and testing, so they will not be operational when the garage officially opens. Once the gates and equipment are installed and tested, they will become operational.
Additional landscaping and visibility work will continue
Construction crews will remain working on aspects of PS7, including visibility accommodations for surrounding neighbors, fencing, tree planting and landscaping.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete these final touches and enhance your parking experience.
