UC Davis Health shines at Folsom Family Pride

(SACRAMENTO)

Folsom Family Pride, originally expected to attract 400 attendees, hosted more than 1,200 participants on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Lions Park, and UC Davis Health was proud to be part of it.

UC Davis Health, represented by the Office for Health Equity by Design for Inclusive Excellence (HEDI), joined community partners, families, and allies to celebrate love, inclusion, and belonging at this year’s Folsom Family Pride.

UC Davis Health’s participation at the event was led by Matthew St. Amant, Program Manager for Culture and Community, who also coordinates the organization’s annual involvement in Sacramento Pride. The team provided information about UC Davis Health services, community engagement opportunities, and our ongoing commitment to promoting the values of UC Davis Health, which emphasize kindness, trust, and inclusion.

The UC Davis Health booth offered tasty snow cones, provided educational materials and giveaways, and created a welcoming space where families, employees, and community members could learn about resources supporting health and well-being. Community members in Folsom were excited that UC Davis Health showcased its well-known Inclusive Flag Garden, with flags lining Stafford and Natoma streets. It served as a beautiful reminder of an open and inclusive event for all ages.

This event held special significance as UC Davis Health recently opened the Folsom Medical Care Clinic, expanding access to excellent care in the region. Participating in Folsom Family Pride was a meaningful way to connect with our neighbors and reaffirm our commitment to building healthy, inclusive communities everywhere we serve.

From families who stopped to chat to the laughter and pride that filled the park, the day served as a vivid reminder that belonging starts with being seen. Through events like these, UC Davis Health continues to uphold its values and the Principles of Community — celebrating diversity, fostering connections, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome as their authentic selves.

Together, we’re building health equity by design — for inclusive excellence and community belonging. Visit the HEDI website for more information about community engagement.
