The University of California, Davis Medical Center Division of Cardiovascular Medicine offers a one-year non-ACGME fellowship program.
Participants will receive clinical training in advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MR. Fellows receive imaging training in interventional echocardiography procedures, such as mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (m-TEER), tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (t-TEER), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (native, MAC, or valve-in-valve), transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement, left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) procedures, paravalvular leak closures, pseudoaneurysm closures, and atrial/ventricular septal defect closure. Trainees are involved in the conduct of patients in clinical trials.
The training also includes clinical training in multi-modality imaging, cardiovascular MRI and cardiac CT. The cardiovascular MRI and cardiac CT curriculum has been developed jointly between the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and our Radiology Department.
Following our one-year fellowship, fellows are expected to receive COCATS level III in echocardiography, level III in cardiac CT, and at least level II in cardiac MR.
