Philosophy of Care

My philosophy of cre is that making the correct diagnosis is critical for clinical improvement or for appropriate compensation. This involves a knowledge of internal medicine, occupational/environmental exposure and toxicology.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Schenker is a retired specialist in occupational and environmental diseases. His work has addressed a wide range of hazards including asbestos, solvents, dust, heavy metals, and others. His research has focused on hazards of work among immigrant populations, including agricultural, semiconductor and other industries.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Schenker's research has covered a wide range of occupational and environmental exposures. Some of these have been industry focused, such as agricultural and railroad workers, and others have focused on specific occupational hazards such as diesel exhaust, agricultural dusts, heavy metals and solvents. His most recent work has focused on the hazards of heat stress among agricultural workers, and health hazards of working in the cannabis industry. He has also done research on a variety of health hazards to immigrant workers.
