Philosophy of Care

Dr. Basheer strives to provide her patients with dedicated comprehensive care and effective individualized treatment for each patient. She has a personalized approach that allows her to establish rapport with her patients and empower them to be play an active role in their healthcare and decision making.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Basheer has many years of diverse experiences, especially in endocrinology and internal medicine. She diagnoses, treats, and manages various endocrine disorders such as thyroid abnormalities, pituitary, gonad and adrenal diseases, diabetes, cholesterol disorders and osteoporosis calcium (bone) disorders, in addition to cancers in the endocrine glands.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Basheer's research interests center on studying thyroid cancer among transgender population. She received the UC Davis Hish Yamauchi, M.D.& Family Endowed Translational Research Award for her study of the prevalence, transcriptional profile and genetic signature of thyroid cancer among transgender females. She also mentors medical residents and endocrine fellows for their research in different endocrine areas.

As a Site Director of Endocrine Fellowship Program of University of California at Davis, Dr. Basheer oversees the educational program and assure that trainees in endocrine division meet their educational goals.
