Dr. Sana Shaikh believes that the patient-doctor relationship is based on transparency and partnership. Her goal is for her patients to understand the medical condition at hand and to feel comfortable with their treatment plan.
Dr. Sana Shaikh is a transplant nephrologist who evaluates patients with advanced kidney disease for potential kidney transplantation, and continues to follow them after surgery to help take care of their new kidney and manage their immunosuppression/anti-rejection medications. She also evaluates and counsels individuals interested in living kidney donation.
Dr. Sana Shaikh's academic interests include recurrence of glomerular disease after transplantation, kidney transplantation in HIV-positive patients, and pregnancy after transplantation.
