I believe that patients with complex chronic lung disease require a comprehensive, team approach to care and management. That is the type of care we envision in the UC Davis Asthma Network clinics.
Dr. Kenyon's clinical interests focus on severe asthma in adults, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), environmental health, and non-invasive markers of airway disease and critical care.
My research interests are in airways diseases and lung injury. As a physician-scientist and Co-Director of the UC Davis Asthma Network (UCAN) clinics with a research interest in adult severe asthma, my laboratory staff and I are working to develop the next medications to improve the care of all patients with severe asthma.
I was the recipient of an NIH career development award to study the effects of nitric oxide in models of airway inflammation, and this work translated into an FDA new drug application and clinical trial to study L arginine in adult severe asthma.
I recently completed NIH funding to perform a Phase II clinical trial of L-arginine supplementation in severe asthma.
I am also studying the future of breath biomarkers and breath diagnostics with my long-term collaborators and colleagues in the College of Engineering at UC Davis.
To help train the next generation of physician-scientists and clinical fellows, I serve as the Director of the CTSC Pre-doctoral Training Program and incoming Associate Director of our NIH Training Program
