I am Craig Keenan and I have been practicing medicine at the UC Davis Medical Center since 2000. As an internal medicine physician, my practice is limited to adult patients with a wide variety of medical conditions in both the clinic and hospital settings. I take pride in getting to know my patients on an individual basis and actively involve my patients and their families in decision-making, recognizing that the best medical care requires a commitment by both patient and physician. I relish the challenge of managing patients with complex medical conditions, but also am passionate about ensuring preventive care for my patients. I have been deeply involved for over 25 years in the education of students and residents to train the next generation of physicians. Education is a two-way street, and these learners keep me on my toes and ensure that I am up to date on all of the latest advances in medicine.
Dr. Keenan is a general internal medicine physician who provides both primary care at the UC Davis Ambulatory Care Center and inpatient medicine at UC Davis Medical Center and the Sacramento VA Medical Center. He is passionate about teaching and training medical students and internal medicine residents to be the next generation of outstanding physicians for our community.
Dr. Keenan's scholarly focus is on medical education, developing new and innovative curricula for students and residents. He is also intimately involved faculty development programs at UC Davis.
