UC Davis Medical Center is one of 11 hospitals in California and the only hospital north of San Francisco to be included on Becker’s “Great Hospitals in America” list.
The publication’s newly released 2024 “Great Hospitals in America” list included UC Davis among 11 hospitals in California — and the only hospital north of San Francisco — to receive the recognition.

The hospitals on the list, according to Becker’s, are known for top-tier clinical work, a deep commitment to patient safety, innovative advancements, in-depth research, educational excellence and high levels of patient satisfaction.
How they rank the best hospitals
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals based on analyses of their recent achievements, including rankings and ratings such as U.S. News & World Report rankings, Healthgrades awards, CMS star ratings and The Leapfrog Group safety grades.
