Head and Neck Surgery
Otolaryngologists Arnaud F. Bewley, M.D., Scott C. Fuller, M.D., F.A.C.S., Marianne Abouyared, M.D., and Andrew Birkeland, M.D. make up the Head and Neck, Skull Base Surgical Oncology Service in the Department of Otolaryngology. The Interdisciplinary Head and Neck Tumor Board meets weekly and includes our Head and Neck Oncologic Surgical Faculty, Neuroradiologist, Radiation Oncologist, Medical Oncologist, Pathologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Speech Pathologist, Dentist, Dietician, and ancillary clinical staff.
This ENT service manages plans of care for surgical excision and reconstruction related to benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. This includes, but is not limited to, the larynx, pharynx, sinuses, oral cavity, ear, head and neck. The surgical interventions can include endoscopic, laser and robotic approaches, combined with post-operative adjuvant oncologic therapies.
Speech and hearing rehabilitation, as well and prosthetic dentistry and cosmesis, are essential parts of this comprehensive approach to care.
