Our ACGME-accredited fellowship prepares physicians to provide medical care and become leaders in the field of allergy and immunology.
The majority of clinical rotations will be on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, which includes the allergy and immunology clinics as well as the ear, nose and throat (ENT), dermatology and pulmonary clinics. The remainder of the training curriculum is dedicated to the pursuit of scholarly academic activity, including training programs in professionalism and research design.
The Allergy and Immunology Fellowship is a two-year program divided into rotations dedicated to clinical and research training. There is an option for funding application to a mentored research program in the third year in order to initiate independent investigator status though a Masters of Advanced Study (MAS) in Clinical Research.
Our Allergy and Immunology team offers evaluations and management of various allergic disorders, and family education/training to further aid in the development of patient treatment plans. Food and Drug challenge clinics are conducted weekly to help delineate the establishment of tolerance to these exposures.
Our immunology service sees patients and offers treatment recommendations for patients with a history of recurrent, severe, or unusual infections, recurrent fevers, low immunoglobulins, and for immune dysregulation syndromes.
Besides our nationally ranked hospital, and academic and research programs, Sacramento and its surrounding region have so much to offer, including restaurants that pride themselves on farm-to-fork cuisine to a variety of outdoor recreation spots to family-friendly events.
Just a couple hours outside Sacramento, you can find a variety of activities and places to visit. Located in the heart of Northern California, Sacramento is situated between the Pacific Ocean and its beautiful beaches to the west, and the picturesque Sierra Nevada foothills and mountain range to the east.
