Practice Philosophy:
I am an ambulatory care pharmacist. My goals are to support my providers, educate my patients, and provide access to medications for patients who need them. I make recommendations in therapy and assist in optimizing a patient’s medication therapy. I believe in following the whole patient and working as a team with other providers to provide the best patient care possible.

Bio:
Dr. Tanya R. Shepard is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist. She also holds a license as an advanced practice pharmacist with the CA state Board of Pharmacy. She is a staff II pharmacist practicing in the ambulatory care setting at UC Davis Health since 2010. She also works as an inpatient pharmacist on a per diem bases at Marshall Medical Center. She completed an accelerated pharmacy program at University of the Pacific after receiving her Bachelors in Science from UC Berkeley. She went on to complete her post graduate year 1 Pharmacy Practice Residency training at Dignity Heath-Mercy San Juan in Sacramento.
Following completion of her PGY1 at Dignity Health she accepted a position at UC Davis Heath in the Ambulatory Care Clinic. Concurrently she also obtained a volunteer faculty position as an assistant professor with the University of California, San Francisco
School of Pharmacy and the University of the Pacific. In 2011 she became a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist. In 2017 she became licensed as an advanced practice pharmacist.
