Bio:
Dr. David Dakwa earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2017 and completed a two-year PGY1/2 residency in Health System Pharmacy Administration at the University of Michigan Health System (Michigan Medicine) in Ann Arbor, MI in 2019. He also received his teaching certificate from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in 2018.

Following completion of residency, he accepted a position with UC Davis Health as the Sterile Compounding Manager where he oversaw inpatient sterile compounding operations. After one year of service, Dr. Dakwa now oversees both inpatient nonsterile and sterile compounding operations in addition to perioperative pharmacy services. He is board certified in pharmacotherapy and concurrently a volunteer assistant faculty at UCSF. David enjoys working with learners and serves as a primary preceptor for the Hospital Operations rotation for IPPE and APPE UCSF students and for Operations Management for UCDH PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Dr. Dakwa contributes to the care of patients and to the department by actively developing relationships with external stakeholders in the health system, remaining active in professional organizations, publications, committee work, and co-coordinating the PGY1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency.
