Bio:
Dr. Matthew Serna is a board-certified, senior pharmacist at UC Davis Health. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific in 2011. Following this, he completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA in 2012.
Dr. Serna has been with UC Davis Health since 2012 and has held a variety of positions in his time here. He began his career working as a hybrid clinical pharmacist with both staffing duties and clinical duties with the General Medicine service. He has also held roles as the lead OR pharmacist and has spent time covering the TPN service. He has been with the Investigational Drug Service since August 2019.
Outside of UC Davis Health, Dr. Serna also works closely with the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy Medicare Part D outreach program, which helps Medicare beneficiaries select the most cost-effective prescription drug plan based on their individual needs.
