Honor Our Veterans: Share a tribute for Memorial Day at UC Davis Health

This Memorial Day, UC Davis Health invites all staff, faculty, students, and affiliates to participate in a special tribute honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country. Whether you have a loved one who served or wish to recognize the bravery of others, we welcome you to contribute to a community display of remembrance.
From Friday, May 23, through Friday, May 30, we encourage you to share photos, quotes, or tokens of memory in honor of a veteran. The memorial will be located in the Education Building’s 3rd-floor breezeway, offering a quiet, reflective space for remembrance throughout the week. Add your quote, item, or photo to the display table. Because this is an open display, we cannot guarantee your items. You're welcome to if you’d rather leave a picture or a quote of your item.
All are invited to a Networking Coffee in Honor of Veterans on Tuesday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the same breezeway space to foster connection further. This is an opportunity to share stories, honor legacies, and build community.
What to Submit:
A photo of your veteran (printed or digital)
A quote, story, or message of remembrance
A small token or item representing your tribute (e.g., flag, patch, flower)
Where to Submit:
Please bring your items directly to the display in the Education Building, 3rd floor breezeway. You can stop by and contribute or reflect at any time throughout the week. If you want assistance printing your image, quote, or message, email it to hs-hedi@ucdavis.edu.
Why Memorial Day Matters:
Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, is a National Day of Remembrance for those who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is a moment for communities to come together in reflection, gratitude, and honor.
