Our innovative fellowship is designed to prepare fellows for excellence in clinical care, teaching, scholarship, research, quality improvement, and health care administration. Our goal is to mentor fellows toward a leadership role in the field of geriatrics.
Our one year program is designed to allow for a combination of clinical experiences and of creative/research/elective time to fulfill the training requirements for Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
The Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) Fellowship provides clinically excellent training in geriatric emergency medicine, with additional experience in education, research, operations and policy. A large multidisciplinary team of educators supplements the Geriatric EM faculty. The GEM fellowship places a strong emphasis on improving the care of the older patient in the emergency department, safe discharge practices, multidisciplinary teams, and perioperative management.
The Mission of the UCD Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship in Neurodegeneration and Aging is to produce Clinical Neurologists and Psychiatrists that are expert in the clinical assessment, treatment, and management of cognitive and behavioral disorders, neurodegenerative and vascular dementias in a diverse patient population with complex diseases and age-related changes of the nervous system.
