Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center - Central Valley & Northern Interior is a Local Performance site of the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center’s four-state region (California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii), federally funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and located on the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. The national AETC network aims to increase the numbers of well-trained healthcare professionals working with HIV-infected persons; assist in removing barriers to primary care access; and respond to the needs of emerging populations as well as to changing faces of the epidemic.
The Pacific AETC - Central Valley & Northern Interior is charged with carrying out the mission of the national AETC program throughout its 32 Northern and Central Valley California geographic region; Tulare/Kings/Inyo Counties northward to the Oregon border. This includes education, technical assistance and training of health care providers in urban, suburban and rural communities on a variety of HIV and AIDS topics, from basic information to expert opinion on complicated treatment recommendations.
