Philosophy of Care

Dr. Sood believes that providing care for patients is a partnership between the patient and physician. He likes to understand the viewpoints of his patients and tries to provide care that harmonizes with their thoughts. While making sure that the care is based on best medical evidence and current standards, he makes patient satisfaction his top priority.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Sood is an endocrinologist providing care to patients with diabetes mellitus and other hormone disorders, including those involving thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, osteoporosis and hypogonadism.

He has special interest in lifestyle therapy, health care delivery for patients with diabetes mellitus, and using telehealth technology for the care of these patients.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Sood's clinical research is related to diabetes mellitus and lifestyle intervention. He has been an investigator in several clinical trials in the field of diabetes mellitus, including ACCORD, LEADER, DEVOTE and GRADE trials.

Dr. Sood is interested in different models of health care delivery for patients with diabetes mellitus, including the role of telemedicine in health care delivery. He is also involved in continuing medical education of primary care providers as related to management of patients with diabetes mellitus and endocrine disorders.
