Philosophy of Care

Dr. Bays believes that that patient involvement is instrumental in a successful treatment strategy. Whenever possible, he aims to get patient input and utilize shared decision making to determine individualized treatment plans for his patients.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Bays is an infectious diseases phsyician. His areas of interest are clinical mycology and fungal infections in patients with hematologic malignancy.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Bays’ research focuses on identifying novel ways of preventing invasive fungal infections in patients with hematologic malignancies. He is investigating how fungal pathogens interact with the patient microbiome. He also is interested in researching Valley Fever, another time of fungal infection.
