Philosophy of Care

I value the opportunity to care for patients over time and to build relationships based on trust and understanding. Good medical care goes beyond treating a diagnosis -- it requires understanding the person living with that diagnosis. I partner with my patients to understand what matters most to them, discuss the available options, and develop individualized care plans that reflect their health needs, values, and goals. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Heath is a primary care physician offering comprehensive care to adults. He has special clinical interest in preventive care and managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, asthma/COPD, and heart disease. He also has expertise in perioperative assessment and optimization of medical conditions prior to surgery. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Heath's academic interests include resident medical education in preventive care and inpatient medical consultation, perioperative medicine, and musculoskeletal injuries.
