To achieve renewal of its CoC accreditation, a site visit was conducted in August to confirm compliance with accreditation standards that evaluate cancer care services. The cancer center received a three-year re-accreditation without any non-compliant standards.
“This is the first year where the ACS Commission on Cancer acknowledged programs that exemplify our commitment to quality by presenting us with the Surgical Quality Partner diamond recognition as part of our re-accreditation,” UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center Physician- in-Chief Richard Bold said. “This designation means that our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in surgical care shows and is making a difference.
In its notification to the cancer center, the ACS CoC said, “We created the Surgical Quality Partner designation to assist our partner hospitals in highlighting their participation in our quality programs to their patients and communities. We know that this designation will be important to your patients and will distinguish your hospital.”
