Our faculty and staff are committed to training practicing orthopaedic surgeons with the broadest possible experience. We offer a five year program (four per year), and a six-year option (one per year) that allows for a dedicated year of research following the PGY-2 clinical year.

Residents rotate at three month intervals on subspecialty services that function as small practice groups under the leadership of the chief resident, with close supervision of an teaching by attending staff.

Why Orthopaedics?

I chose orthopaedics after having multiple surgeries playing football in college, and developing a mentoring relationship with our team surgeon. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and building things my whole life. Nothing is more fulfilling than helping a patient get back to a healthy and functional life.

Why Orthopaedics?

The practice of Orthopaedic Surgery is rooted in anatomy, I have always been fascinated by the anatomic processes that drive human locomotion. As an Orthopaedic Surgeon I am given the opportunity to apply the knowledge of kinematics in order to treat Musculoskeletal disease - whether congenital, traumatic or degenerative - allowing for the surgical restoration of form and function, with the continued goal of improving the quality of life for our patients. The motivation to make a positive impact on my patients and society has guided my passion for Orthopaedic Surgery and attracted me to training at UC Davis Medical Center where excellence in Medicine and Surgery are paramount, with the common goal of providing, and elevating patient centered care

Why Orthopaedics?

I chose to pursue orthopedic surgery because it offers a wide variety of complex problems that require both a strong clinical and surgical understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and pathology to solve. In addition, the definitive nature and high patient satisfaction that results from many orthopedic interventions is very rewarding. I specifically chose to train at UC Davis because of the strong resident and faculty relationships, high volume representation within all orthopedic subspecialties, and the endless outdoor activities available in the surrounding area.
