I believe in providing humanistic care in partnership with patients. This means I try to understand how people’s health and symptoms affect their lives, and how treatment options might fit within someone’s values and lifestyle. An important aspect of my role is to stay current with medical evidence and help patients make informed, evidence-based decisions. Outside the clinic, my work focuses on improving systems of care, especially for young people transitioning out of pediatrics and people managing chronic conditions, and I work with my patients to help coordinate and navigate these systems. Finally as a Central Valley native I believe in serving and giving back to my community.
Dr. Arons is a primary care physician offering comprehensive care for adults and children. She has special clinical interest and expertise in supporting young people transitioning out of the pediatric health system, and in preventing and managing chronic conditions including diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Dr. Arons’ research focuses on early prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular disease during young adulthood. She uses epidemiologic, implementation science, and community-based research methods to inform changes to practice and policy that can support young people in achieving life-long health. She also teaches and serves as a mentor to medical students and residents.
