Specialty Information

UC Davis School of Medicine specialty advisors have prepared specialty-specific information guides to answer questions about their specialty area, identify opportunities for career exploration, and support you throughout the residency application process.

New Resource Available
Fourth-year specialty advising session recordings are now available. Several sessions are available through Elentra, including Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgery, Pediatrics and Family Medicine. Additional recordings will be added soon from Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology. These recordings offer specialty advisor insights on preparing for residency, selecting electives, and strengthening your application. Recordings are not available for Psychiatry or Radiology, and students interested in those specialties are encouraged to follow up directly with their specialty advisors for additional information.
