ExamSoft & Examplify
ExamSoft is a contracted service providing assessment software used for pre-clinical written examinations. The service provides web based interface for creating and storing multiple choice and essay format exams. An application (Examplify) licensed to UC Davis School of Medicine is used on our computers to administer the electronic exams.
The log-in process allows for different tier access (student, staff, and faculty) which have varying levels of permission based on their roles of review, grading, and managing exams.
Exams are customizable with question count, question type, question weighting, randomizing questions and answers, and time limit. Each exam is password protected and requires the use of the Examplify application. In additional housing a custom question bank and exams, there are several built-in analytical tools to provide performance information including:
- Question categories (Assessment Mapping)
- Longitudinal Analysis
- Item Analysis (per assessment)
- Strength and Opportunities (per assessment)
