About Hewitt: Hewitt grew up in Sacramento and received his B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, where he did undergraduate research in the Hedgehog pathway during development of the neural tube. After graduating, he worked as a research assistant at the University of California, San Francisco, investigating the effects of immunotherapies on the immune system of patients with cancer. Hewitt then worked as a clinical research coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco, for the Department of Radiation Oncology, where he managed multiple clinical trials. In his free time, he enjoys running, tennis, traveling, and trying new foods.

Research Interests: My research interests include immunology, head and neck cancer, and immunotherapy.

Why I chose ARC: I chose ARC-MD because the program mentorship and community support and invest in my journey in becoming a physician-scientist.
