About Takhmina: Takhmina grew up in Oakland, California and attended UC Davis for a bachelor's degree in neurobiology and a minor in music. She was a part of the Advancing Diversity in Neuroscience Research Honors program at UC Davis, where she studied molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic plasticity. After graduating in 2023, Takhmina took a gap year serving as an Adolescent Health Coordinator with AmeriCorps at multiple school-based health clinics in the Bay Area. She loves to spend time exploring coffee shops, running, and reading.
