Grants Facilitation
The Grants Facilitation unit assists investigators with NIH mechanisms for predoctoral, postdoctoral, early-stage, and established investigators. The unit supports career development awards, institutional training grants, and multi-investigator center grants.
2024–2025 Accomplishments
Funding Initiatives
- Supported 122 proposals across multiple funding agencies.
- Provided consultations and strategic guidance to align with evolving funding landscapes
Policy Navigation
- Responded to policy changes from government agencies
- Advised investigators on executive orders and new funding guidelines.
- Maintained engagement with the Conafay Group for Department of Defense and other federal opportunities.
- Helped investigators revise proposals to meet new National Institutes of Health (NIH) priorities and language requirements.
- Supported strategic planning for resubmissions and alternative funding pathways
Classes and Workshops
- Provided support and training across the trajectory of research career stages
- Educated scholars through Grant Writing I and II courses, the F-Award, KOHORT and R-Award programs.
Interunit Collaboration
- Strengthened support for School of Medicine researchers by collaborating with other School of Medicine Office of Research units.
- Collaborated with the Evaluation unit to develop plans for training and center grants and assessed outcomes for the KOHORT program
- Teamed up with the Research Administration and Research Operations units to support grant applications
- Trained staff to review NIH biosketches.
