Research Operations

2024-2025 Accomplishments

The Research Operations unit facilitates research activities through a variety of services for proposal administration and analysis of research and funding metrics. In addition, the unit assists other teams within SOMOR and across campus regarding scheduling, ordering, website updates, marketing materials, event planning and other miscellaneous support activities.

  • Supported growing portfolio of School of Medicine funding initiatives, including the following, new in 2024-2025:
    • School of Medicine Bridge Funding, VA-UC Davis Pilot Grant, Research Rock Star Awards.

  • Edited Dean’s Letters of Support for researcher grant applications.
  • Prepared nomination packets for UC Davis applicants of national research awards.
  • Provided assistance to other office units on various initiatives, including:
    • Research Administration Training Program
    • Research Space Funding Assessment
  • Coordinated research meetings for research leadership and early career researchers.

  • Coordinated a research symposium that included participants from six universities.

    • Research publication impact
    • Departmental extramural funding
  • Publicized research news and resources through newsletters, social media and email campaigns.
  • Finalized the migration of the School of Medicine website to the new platform and continued to refine it.
