The Research Space Oversight unit conducts space assessments, supports department relocations, and collaborates with stakeholders to meet research space and facilities needs.
2024–2025 Accomplishments
Move to Aggie Square
- Successfully supported the relocation of 36 research labs to Aggie Square, with more underway.
- Partnered with consultant firm to manage complex logistics, schedules and stakeholder coordination.
- Provided full-cycle support: planning, execution and post-move assistance.
Space Policy Launch
- Launched the Research Space Assessment Initiative.
- Nearly completed space assessments for the Basic Science Departments.
- Enabled better-informed planning and space optimization.
Use of Vacated Space
- Prepared vacated labs for new recruits, expansions and program growth.
- Coordinated construction, cleaning, decommissioning and upgrades to minimize downtime.
Vendor Management
- Managed more than 50 specialty vendors, including:
- Cold storage and chemical movers with generator trucks & hazard support
- White-glove equipment vendors for delivery, setup, training, and seismic anchoring
- Lab & office movers who assisted with setup and even hung faculty artwork
- Contractors who collaborated across infrastructure and logistics.
