We have several projects in the laboratory all relating to kidney disease and cancer. Our laboratory is uniquely situated to study the intersection between intrinsic renal disease and cancer, and is likely one of the few laboratories in this position. We have collaborations both nationally and internationally. Projects in the laboratory include but are not limited to:
Metabolomics and proteomics analysis of kidney cancer and ADPKD for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery
The role of the tumor suppressor proteins and p21 in renal cancer and ADPKD
Validation of nuclear transport inhibitors and PPAR-alpha as potential cancer and kidney disease therapeutics
Study of the tryptophan and glutamine metabolic pathways in kidney cancer
Glycomics analysis of IgA nephropathy
The mechanism of increased renal tumorigenesis in chronic kidney disease
Grade dependent mechanisms and potential therapies in kidney cancer
