  Welcome to the EMPOWER Lab!

Directed by Susan D. Brown, Ph.D., the mission of the EMPOWER Lab is to develop, test, and implement behavioral and health services interventions to prevent diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Our goal is to improve health and healthcare across populations, including maternal populations at high-risk for cardiometabolic conditions. We aim to foster a research environment that is collaborative, inclusive, and intellectually rigorous. An extension of this work is Empowering Mentees to Become Exemplary Researchers (EMBER), which supports research career development for mentees across career stages.
