This program provides one-time funding to Principal Investigators who have lost, or will lose, their primary extramural funding. Funds ensure continuation of a research project for an interim period until extramural support can be reestablished.
Documents and forms that are sent directly to the Dean or her staff will be delayed in processing. In order to minimize processing delays, forms that require the Dean’s signature must be routed to School of Medicine Office of Research.
Letters of Support to be sent on behalf of the Dean of the School of Medicine, Vice Dean for Research or other research dean are reviewed and edited by Research Operations before being forwarded for signature.
The Limited Submission Program promotes an internal deadline for either Expressions of Interest (EOIs) or preproposals–depending on the anticipated interest–then coordinates an internal competition to determine which project(s) will move forward to the sponsor. This process ensures that our institution only submits the allowable number of proposals to the sponsor.
Prospective applicants for matching support should reach out to the School of Medicine Assistant Dean for Research for funding information and for obtaining the required signatures in advance before submitting the proposal.
