I believe that each patient is unique, requiring an individualized yet comprehensive plan of care developed through shared decision making. In order for patients to achieve the best outcomes, they must put forth their best effort as we work together, guiding them towards reaching their goals.
Dr. Merritt is a general physiatrist caring for diverse patients across the life spectrum. She treats survivors of polytrauma and catastrophic injuries such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and other orthopedic and neurological conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She believes in the importance of integrating a multidisciplinary approach to care using a variety of modalities to optimize function and quality of life for her patients.
Dr. Merritt's research focuses on population health, effective prevention and early intervention strategies to reduce chronic complex medical conditions. She is also interested in the evolving understanding of the impact of environmental health as a social determinant of health.
