Price received her PhD from UC Davis in the laboratory of Lesilee Rose, focusing on the role of the DEP domain-containing protein LET-99 in cytokinesis in the C. elegans one-cell embryo. She completed her post-doctoral research in the laboratory of Lynn Cooley at the Yale School of Medicine. There, Price characterized the process of incomplete cytokinesis that produces stable intercellular bridges in animal germ cells and some somatic tissues using the fruit fly and the cnidarian Hydra vulgaris as model systems. During her post-doctoral tenure, Price was the recipient of an NIH F32 NRSA Award, a Yale Venture Fund & Surdna Foundation Fellowship, and the Eddie Mendez Postdoctoral Scholar Award from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In her role on the grant development team, Price brings experience in crafting NIH grant proposals and has contributed to the development of numerous grants to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cell division programs during development. She is also highly experienced in writing and reviewing scientific manuscripts and has published in high-impact journals. Price is committed to advancing collaborative science and enhancing the mission of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center through strategic and impactful grant writing. |
